Master Data section Introduction.

Master data enables users to Create Datasources Datasets, Parameters, Annotations and Datasource Mapping. (Note: Datasource Mapping option is only accessible to users with Administrator privileges)

Master Data section can be accessed from the main menu. Datasources and other sections under the MasterData section are only visible if the appropriate privileges have been assigned to the logged-in user, please contact your administrator if you facing difficulties accessing the sections under the Masterdata tab.

Master Data tab contains the following items:

1. Data source Overview

Data source is connection point of database and opnbi. you can create data sources with various database like MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Big Query, OLAP, NoSQL, Flat files, Custom options and many more.

2. Data source mapping

you can share or restrict your data source with selected users using the data source mapping. you can share datasource with user as well as with roles.

Datasource mapping feature is accessed by a user having admin rights.

3. Dataset Overview

Dataset feature provides the functionality to fetch data from required data sources. also users can add parameters and hierarchy with the dataset to fetch required data from the database. Also, users can see the preview of the data fetched without saving it in OPNBI using dataset preview. In OPNBI there is also feature provided to get data by adding client script and server script as per business requirements.

OPNBI facilitate you to make datasets from the available resources like CSV, JSON, EXCEL, flat files to fetch the data from it. moreover, you get the feature to join and union between datasets using join and union dataset types.

4. Group dataset

The Group dataset provides a feature where users can group the data according to parameters or criteria after making the group of the dataset it will only fetch the required group instead of calling whole data and filtering.

5. Parameter

In OPNBI users can create different types of parameters. parameters can use used to take the input from end-users and filter data accordingly. The parameter can be linked-to dataset parameters.
